Ford 1942 Business Coupe

Project update 2000-01-211  I'm back, after spending a year in UK working. Finally I'm back, and able  to spend some quality time with my 42 Ford. One of the first things i did was making holes for the So-Cal mirrors that i bought in UK. So hang on.

I hold the mirror at the preferred position. Let your wife hold the mirror, and sit in the car to check that you see good in the rear view mirror, and mark its position with a pen..

Then its time to drill a 9 mm hole.
On the inside of the door there was a bit to much tin, to be able to mount the mirror.

So out with the hole saw
After drilling the hole there still was some metal left.

It was solved with a little hot wrenching.
After that i could mount the mirror. Its mounted from the inside wit a nut.
Looking great, Now its only the rest left to do :-)
One other thing i also had to do was to shorten the P- rod. This because the dropped front axle is 2" narrower then the original one. I used a tap to make new threads.
After that i cut a new slot with my grinder.
Ready to mount, on the car again ;-)
